The Physio Control Lifepak CR2 trainer is equipped with 2 pre-programmed training scenarios. The setup screen makes it easy to choose between these scenarios’s (it is located under the electrode tray). Thus, the AED trainer can be set to semi- and fully automatic and, for example, the metronome can be switched on to chest compressions only (constant metronome) or to 30:2 (interrupted by ventilation instruction).

Like the Lifepak CR2 defibrillator, the trainer also features a special paediatric mode. Before the electrodes are inserted, this can be selected. The training electrodes contain a sensor that detects when the electrode pads are pressed onto a firm surface, such as a doll. This allows the Physio Control CR2 trainer to recognise during sessions whether the pads are applied, and then automatically continue the chosen scenario. Physio Control's innovative cprINSIGHT analysis technology is also available for the CR2 trainer. This option can be switched on via the setup screen. The trainer runs on 4x D-cell batteries.
